Last week, Saudi Arabia’s $500 billion mega-project NEOM announced a new venture – Leyja, a sustainable tourism oasis, which will feature three hotels designed by leading architects.
Located within NEOM, Leyja is a region rich in history and myth, stretching from the Gulf of Aqaba coast to a natural valley nestled between 400-meter-high mountains sculpted by nature and water over centuries.
This addition to NEOM aligns with the kingdom’s ambition to create a robust and sustainable tourism sector as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
Consistent with NEOM’s commitment to preserving the environment, Leyja will set aside 95 percent of its land as a nature reserve.
The development will incorporate innovative and ecological construction methods to seamlessly integrate with the natural landscape.
NEOM Leyja to feature three luxury hotels
The ecotourism destination will feature three thoughtfully designed hotels by renowned architects, offering a total of 120 boutique rooms and suites, with 40 keys at each property.
The first hotel is designed for adventure enthusiasts, with a deconstructed design that follows the wadi’s natural contours, making it ideal for activities like rock climbing.
The second property is situated at the heart of the wadi’s largest oasis, offering an enticing gateway for exploration.
The third hotel is an immersive wellness retreat, featuring high-tech design elements that mirror the natural surroundings.
Visitors to Leyja can look forward to a range of experiences, including fine dining by world-famous chefs, wellness facilities, rooftop infinity pools, guided wadi walks, hiking trails, mountain biking, and climbing.
Leyja is the latest addition to NEOM’s development, joining other flagship regions like Sindalah, THE LINE, Trojena, and Oxagon, each contributing to the overall vision of NEOM.
