Two contracts for Dubailand’s City of Arabia will be sealed in the coming weeks.

Two contracts for Dubailand’s City of Arabia will be sealed in the coming weeks. Dhabi Contracting is tipped to secure the Wadi Walk contract while a joint venture between ACC, Besix and Arabtec is in line to win the main building contract for the massive Mall of Arabia.

The contract between ACC, Besix and Arabtec, which is estimated at US $816 million (AED3 billion), was due to be signed a month ago but ongoing negotiations between the client and consultant have delayed the deal.

“We are doing final schedules. It’s a target cost contract and these things take time to work out,” said Anwer Sher, director, City of Arabia.

Mall of Arabia is expected to get underway within the next two months, according to a spokesperson from ACC.

Wadi Walk is a commercial and residential development that will be surrounded by a waterway, designed to create a series of quiet urban spaces.

The waterways and walk-ways will link the area to the Mall of Arabia.
