UAE’s Transguard invests $31m to house 2,700 Dubai staff

UAE-based business services provider says to build new accommodation for hundreds of employees in Dubai South

UAE-based business services provider Transguard Group has announced plans to build a new AED114 million ($31 million) accommodation for 2,708 employees in Dubai South.

Due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019, the development will include a dedicated medical clinic, a barber’s shop, a gym, laundry facilities, and dining area offering a range of menus from Asia, Africa and Europe.

A prayer hall, bike storage, recycling and ATM banking facilities will complement the building, the company said in a statement.

It added that the new facility is the second construction project of its kind for Transguard after the company broke ground on its first dedicated staff accommodation in 2017 in Jebel Ali which will  house nearly 10,000 staff.

Transguard also said it is rolling out across its entire workforce its welfare provision and has already invested more than AED5 million in onsite healthcare centres catering for 20,000 employees.
