Two Dubai policemen received high praise this week for their efforts in managing to return a stolen vehicle in under an hour.
Dubai Police’s Command and Control Centre received a report about a stolen Toyota in the jurisdiction of Al Qusais Police Station. The thief stole the vehicle after the vehicle owner left his car unattended with the engine running while dropping his son to school.
The command centre issued an ‘all-points bulletin’ on the car immediately, and within an hour, the stolen car was seized by two police officers on patrol.
Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to First Corporal Khalid Ibrahim Al Mazmi and policeman Abduallrahem Husein as a reward for their speedy endeavours.
He said the honour was given with the intention of motivating and encouraging the employees of Dubai Police to exert more effort in providing high-quality services to the community. In response, Al Mazmi and Husein expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation for the Dubai Police leadership.
The General HQ of Dubai Police has an organising awareness campaign, warning drivers against the dangers of leaving vehicles unattended with the engine running in public places, which makes them an easy target for thieves.
