The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship issued a statement denying any changes to service fees and dismissing rumours circulating that it had hiked up application charges.
Customers were urged to ignore unofficial sources of information, stressing that any changes in its procedures and services would be announced publicly, through official channels, such as their website or through local media channels.
The fees for the issue, renewal or replacement of identity cards are enshrined in law, and stood at AED100 for a five-year period, for UAE and GCC nationals.
Resident visas would be valid for the duration of residency and cost AED100 to issue, in addition to a AED70 charge for e-form processing at a printing office and AED40 for applications submitted via the authority’s website or smart application.
The fee for renewing identity cards for all applicants is same as the cost of issue, while replacement of lost cards would be AED300.
Amendments to the customer’s official details is AED150, in addition to the costs of processing the form, depending on the customers chosen channel of application.
There is also no fees for application, or for applicants on social support, with special needs, or the elderly, over 70.
