Sheikha Lubna to unveil women’s Power List

UAE minister to launch list of 100 most powerful Arab women

The UAE Minister for Foreign Trade, Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, is to unveil the list of the world’s 100 most powerful Arab women at a special event on March 7.

Some of the world’s most influential Arab women are expected to attend the event being held at Dubia’s Emirates Towers Hotel, from 7pm on March 7 –on the eve of International Women’s Day. The list is being published for the second successive year by CEO Middle East, and features Arab women from several sectors, including business, sports, science, arts, culture and media.

Anil Bhoyrul, Editorial Direrctor of ITP Executive, said: “This year’s list is a celebration of the growing influence of Arab women across all walks of life. It is a huge honour for us that Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna will attend the event to unveil the list – she topped last’s year’s list, and is a shining example of the outstanding work and achievements of so many Arab women across the globe.”

This year’s list is thought to include a record 38 new entries, and features Arab women residing in18 different countries.

Bhoyrul added: “Our researchers have been looking closely at work of Arab women throughout the world over the past year. While naturally countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia feature heavily, this year’s list also includes Arab women working in countries like Switzerland and Holland. With so many new entries, there are also a lot of surprises on this year’s list.”

The full list is also being published in the March edition of CEO Middle East, and online on www.arabianbusiness.com from Sunday March 4.
