A new complex for ministers specializing in the traditions of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) will be set up in the holy Saudi city of Medinah, the Saudi King has announced.
The new King Salman Complex for Prophet’s Hadith, will house a council of members world-renowned in the teachings of the Islamic Prophet who will appointed by royal decree, the Saudi Press Agency reported quoting the royal decree.
According to the decree the council will be tasked with the classification, investigation and study of the Hadith.
Social media users in Saudi Arabia celebrated the move, lauding the creation of the new body, for helping to promote and distribute Islamic teachings around the world.
According to SPA Sheikh Muhammad Bin Hassan Al Asheikh, member of the Council of Senior Scholars, has been appointed as the president of the council.
In Islam the teachings of the Prophet are considered the second most important source of “Islamic legislation” after the Qur’an – providing moral guidance on Shariah-compliant lifestyle.
