Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labour has announced new measures to encourage women to enter the work force, including breast-feeding for one hour a day over two years, Arab News reported.
New mothers will be allowed the concession at a time agreed upon with their employers, a ministry official told the paper.
Other measures include flexibility to work from home which would reduce transport problems and benefit their families.
The rate of unemployment among Saudi women in 2013 has been estimated at 34 percent, up 2 percent from the previous year, according to recent official statistics, compared to 6.2 percent for men.
