The American University in Dubai (AUD) and the Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) have announced scholarship opportunities for UAE nationals desiring to study journalism under the Mohamed Bin Rashid School for Communication.
High school students can qualify for the scholarships upon graduation should they have a grade average of 85 or higher.
Jamal Bin Huwaireb, managing director of MBRF said: “We are proud of our strategic partnership with the American University in Dubai, as today we offer scholarships for UAE nationals to study at the Mohammad Bin Rashid School for Communication.
“Our media institutions need qualified Emirati nationals with outstanding academic, scientific and practical credentials. To widen the program’s reach, we have decided not to specify a set number of scholarships, but to open the door to all high school graduates who wish to specialise in media.”
Other nationals can also obtain a scholarship under the Mohamed Bin Rashid School for Communication but with a grade average of 90% or above.
The scholarship is granted to the recipient for one year of waiver of tuition and automatically renewed for the next 3 years to obtain the bachelor degree as long as the grade point average is maintained.
To date, 921 AUD graduates have benefited from the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum scholarships, with over 180 of them graduating from the Mohammad Bin Rashid School for Communication.
