A James Bond-style gun disguised as a pen has reportedly been found in the residence of defected Kuwaiti royal Sheikh Athbi Al Sabah as part of a police investigation involving two other ruling family members.

Police seized the gun, which is activated using a pump, as well as a Kalashnikov rifle, a handgun and ammunition, according to the Interior Ministry, reported Kuwait Times.

Al Sabah, who is the nephew of Kuwait’s Amir, previously headed Kuwait’s intelligence agency, the National Security office.

He has been on the run since being investigated for publishing anonymous Twitter posts using forged videos of judges receiving bribes, after which he was charged with a five-year prison sentence.

Other royalties involved in the case have apologised on state television.
