The law – which comes into effect on August 1, wearing a burqa, which covers a person’s entire face, or the niqab, which only shows the eyes, in public carries – will fine violators 1,000 Kroner ($156) for the first three violations. Those who violate the regulation a fourth time will be fined 10,000 Kroner ($1,577).
