Dubai Bollywood awards to be postponed till May

Arab Indo Bollywood Awards at Meydan Racecourse was originally scheduled for April 9

The Bollywood awards ceremony due to be held in Dubai for the first time on April 9 has been delayed for nearly seven week, organisers has confirmed, without revealing the reason behind the rescheduling.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to reschedule the Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (AIBA), 2015 to the 29th May 2015 at Meydan Racecourse. We regret the inconvenience caused to the fans awaiting to see the stars and to all other stakeholders. However preparations of the event are underway and tickets will be on sale for the 29th May at the allocated outlets. Thanking you in advance for your support and cooperation,” AIBA management said in a statement.

The four-hour ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on April 9.

It will celebrate the best of Hindi cinema in 2015 and is expected to play host to more than 150 celebrities.

Filmmaker Karan Johar and TV host Manish Paul will host the event, while Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan, Parineethi Chopra and Kanika Kapoor were due to perform but it is not clear if they will all be attending on the rescheduled date in May.
