Sultan Al Neyadi is currently on a six-month space mission at the International Space Station (ISS) as part of Crew-6. The team of astronauts successfully took off from Earth on March 2.

Since his arrival at the ISS, Al Neyadi has been sharing insights into life in space and providing updates to enthusiasts through virtual calls from the space station and posts on his official Twitter account.

In his most recent post, the UAE astronaut extended his greetings to Egypt and “its warm people.” Al Neyadi shared a video of Egypt taken from the ISS.

“The words of Late Sheikh Zayed, “Egypt’s renaissance is a renaissance for all Arabs,” remain just as powerful and relevant today as when they were first spoken. His enduring love for Egypt has seeped into the heart of Emiratis nationwide. As I gaze down from space on this land, I extend my greetings to Egypt and its warm people,” the caption read.

Al Neyadi, a participant in the UAE Astronaut Programme at the MBRSC, arrived at the ISS on March 3, making him the second Emirati and the second Arab to visit the orbiting science laboratory.

His mission, which is the longest by an Arab astronaut, is anticipated to enhance the UAE’s position as a leading space-faring nation in the Middle East.

The UAE has accomplished several space missions in recent years, with Hazzaa Al Mansoori, the country’s first astronaut, completing an eight-day mission to the ISS in September 2019.
