UAE unemployment insurance now available on BOTIM as deadline nears

This makes the platform the first multi-service provider to integrate a government-mandated initiative

The mandatory UAE unemployment insurance is nearing its deadline, those who are not subscribed by the end of the deadline period, will be subject to AED400 in fines. To make the subscription widely accessible, the ILOE subscription is now available on BOTIM.

This makes BOTIM, an Astra Tech company, the first multi-service platform to integrate a government-mandated initiative. To further incentivise subscriptions, the platform will be offering VIP memberships for those who sign up, for a period of one month.

It is mandatory for all Emiratis and UAE residents working in all sectors in the country including government, freezones and private companies to enroll to the mandatory insurance scheme.

Signing up through the BOTIM app will allow subscribers to pay using several methods integrated within the app.

Abdallah Abu Sheikh, Founder of Astra Tech and CEO of BOTIM, said, “The launch of the crucial ILOE government service within our BOTIM ecosystem is a natural progression aligned with our strategic partnership approach. Remaining true to our mission of simplifying users’ daily lives, this move brings us closer to establishing a comprehensive ecosystem that fosters harmonious synergy among the government, public, and private sectors—perfectly mirroring the UAE’s national agenda.”

How to subscribe on BOTIM

  • Select ILOE insurance on the explore page on the app
  • Input Emirates ID details and a valid email address which will then auto-select the relevant category based on registered employment information
  • Make the payment

Abdellatif Abuqurah, CEO of Dubai Insurance, said, “We are happy to have BOTIM joining the Involuntary Loss of Employment Subscription channels being one of the top Fintech Apps in the UAE. This will allow the workforce in UAE have access to a multifunctional app that provides all the needed services that a person would need daily and to be able to subscribe to the mandatory insurance scheme, the Involuntary Loss Of Employment (ILOE) in a seamless user experience.”

Qualified employees may receive a monthly cash benefit amounting to 60 percent of their average basic salaries from the six months preceding their job loss.

This cash benefit will be granted for a maximum duration of three months, provided that the employee has maintained consistent premium payments for a minimum of 12 months prior to receiving the benefit.

  • Investors (owners of companies they work at)
  • Domestic helpers
  • Temporary-contract workers
  • Juveniles under the age of 18
