UAE residents took to social media to report tremors of an earthquake, which hit Iran on Wednesday morning.
An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale hit Iran at 10:06 am on 15 June, according to the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology.
The quake, which originated at a depth of 10 km from the surface, was reported in the southern regions of Iran.
Although aftershocks of the earthquake were felt by some Dubai residents, the National Center of Meteorology clarified that it did not have “any effect in the UAE.”
Tremors were also reportedly felt in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
