UAE confirms paid holiday for public and private sectors

The UAE has confirmed Wednesday, January 1, 2025 will be a paid holiday for the private sector.

Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced the occasion on social media, with wishes for happiness and success in the year ahead.

A message on X said: “The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announces that Wednesday, 1 January 2025, will be New Year’s paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE.

“We wish you all a year filled with happiness and success!”

It comes after the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) declared Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as the New Year holiday for federal government entities.

A circular issued by the Authority on Friday added that work will resume on Thursday, January 2.
