UAE military drill: Residents warned against taking pictures, approaching site

The drill will occur on Thursday, April 27

Sharjah Police has issued an alert to residents about a military drill occurring on Thursday, April 27. The security exercise is being carried out at the Sharjah Expo site to measure readiness.

The security exercise will be accompanied by military units, the alert read, residents are warned against taking pictures and videos or approaching the site.

Residents are also told to make way for the police units.

The alert was posted by Sharjah Police via its official Twitter account.

On Wednesday, UAE police busted a drug-dealing gang and seized more than AED23.5m ($6.4m) in illegal narcotics.

Over 120kg of marijuana, 3m Captagon pill was seized as part of the operation by Sharjah Police to overthrow the Black Bags gang.

The Police arrested 24 suspects as part of the operation.
