The UAE Lottery, operated by The Game LLC under the oversight of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has announced a strategic partnership with Takalam, an AI-powered mental well-being platform, to promote responsible gaming practices across the country.
The collaboration introduces a dedicated mini-site (https://getsupport.takalamhere.com/) offering a range of resources, including educational videos, articles, and unlimited free online counselling and coaching sessions.
The initiative is aimed at individuals at risk of developing unhealthy gaming behaviours, providing them with personalised tools and support to foster informed and responsible gaming habits.
James Boyles, Group Director for Responsible Gaming at The UAE Lottery said, “We are proud to collaborate with Takalam to further our commitment to players’ well-being and responsible gaming. This partnership underscores our dedication to providing players with access to mental health resources and fostering a safe, supportive lottery environment for all.”
The initiative aligns with The UAE Lottery’s broader strategy to address gaming-related challenges through preventive measures, including age restrictions, self-exclusion programs, awareness campaigns, and geo-fencing technologies.
These measures aim to identify at-risk individuals early and provide interventions before gaming behaviours become problematic.
Takalam’s role in the partnership brings a mental health perspective to the forefront. Khawla Hammad, Founder and CEO of Takalam said, “At Takalam, we were happy to respond to The UAE Lottery’s call to support their mission in promoting well-being within the Lottery industry. This initiative underscores the importance of recognising when gaming begins to negatively impact mental well-being and offers support to help individuals regain balance.”
Through its confidential and user-friendly platform, Takalam ensures participants can seek help in a safe space without compromising their privacy.
The partnership reflects a shared vision of creating an environment where mental health support is accessible and destigmatised.
