The UAE is braced for rain, thunder, lightning and hail this week as low-pressure from the Arabian Sea towards Oman influence weather conditions across the country.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted varying weather conditions across the UAE from Tuesday, October 15, to Friday, October 18.
This system will extend its influence over the UAE, bringing changes in weather patterns.
UAE weather forecast
The NCM has indicated that the UAE will experience an increase in cloud cover across different areas, with convective clouds forming, which are expected to bring rainfall of varying intensity.
These conditions will initially impact the eastern and northern regions before extending to some internal and western areas.
The rainfall may also be accompanied by lightning, thunder, and occasional hail over specific locations.
Residents should expect light to moderate winds from the southeast to northeast, which will occasionally freshen, becoming strong at times, particularly during periods of cloud formation.
These winds may cause blowing dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility in some areas of the UAE.
The NCM advised that the sea in the Arabian Gulf may range from slight to moderate, potentially becoming rough at times.
Similarly, conditions in the Oman Sea are expected to be slight to moderate.
- Tuesday, October 15: Dusty and partly cloudy, becoming cloudy, accompanied by some convective clouds over some Eastern and Southern areas associated with rainfall by afternoon. Light to moderate winds, and fresh to strong at times causing blowing dust and sand, may reduce the horizontal visibility. The sea will be slight to moderate, becoming rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea
- Wednesday, October 16: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times, accompanied by some convective clouds especially over some Eastern and Southern areas associated with rainfall, and a slight decrease in temperatures. Light to moderate Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds, and fresh to strong at times with clouds causing blowing dust and sand, may reduce the horizontal visibility, with a speed of 15–30kmph reaching 50kmph. The sea will be rough becoming moderate to slight by afternoon in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to slight in Oman Sea
- Thursday, October 17: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times, accompanied by some convective clouds over some Eastern areas and extending to Western areas associated with rainfall.
