UAE has announced a new launch date and time for the six-month space mission which will feature UAE astronaut Dr Sultan Al Neyadi.
“A new launch attempt is set for the Crew-6 mission on 2 March at 9:34 AM (UAE time). The date is subject to change pending resolution of the technical issue that prevented today’s launch. More updates to follow,” the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) announced via Twitter.
Dr Sultan Al Neyadi’s historic space mission as part of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-6, had to be aborted with just two and a half minutes for lift-off.
The ground control at Kennedy Space Center in Florida had to call for a hold on Falcon-9 after noticing an issue with the T-tabs at T-5 minutes.
Al Neyadi’s six-month space mission to the International Space Station (ISS) would make him the first Arab long-duration astronaut mission. It was schedule at 10:45 AM UAE time.
The T-tab is the ignition fluid that’s used for the first and second stages that ignites the oxidiser for igniting the engines themselves to lift Dragon into space.
