UAE announces 3-day weekend throughout Ramadan for some workers

Some UAE employees will work a 4-day week and have a 3-day weekend throughout Ramadan, after the Government made an official announcement.

The emirate of Umm Al Quwain has amended the working week for Government employees throughout the Holy Month.

All public sector employees in Umm Al Quwain will work only Monday to Thursday throughout Ramadan, making Friday a holiday.

UAE 3-day weekend in Ramadan

The 3-day weekend Ramadan work plan was announced in an official circular.

The move follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain.

The circular also stated working hours for UAE employees in Umm Al Quwain.

Public sector staff in the Emirate will work from 9am to 2.30pm from Monday to Thursday.
