A stunning photo of Dubai shows the city as seen from the International Space Station.
Taken by UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi the incredible photograph is a night scene of Dubai and shows the city lit up, with several neighbourhoods sparkling and easily identifiable.
Al Neyadi shared the photograph from his temporary home on the International Space Station.

The message said: “Dubai shines almost as bright as the stars up here”.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai was moved to share the image. Posting the image to his Twitter account Sheikh Hamdan said: “An awe-inspiring photograph of Dubai taken by Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi from the @Space_Station paints a picture of the nation’s extraordinary achievements both on Earth and beyond.”
Standing out in the photograph is the Palm Jumeirah man-made island, with other neighbourhoods and major roads visible from space.
Last week, UAE Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi made history by completing the first Arab spacewalk.
The spacewalk began at 5.11pm UAE time and concluded when the astronauts had returned back into an airlock at just after midnight.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan lauded Al Neyadi’s achievement.
Taking to Twitter Sheikh Mohamed said: “With this week’s discoveries by the Hope probe, the achievements of the Rashid rover mission, and Sultan Al Neyadi’s first-ever spacewalk by an Arab astronaut, the UAE continues to make a meaningful contribution to space exploration and advancements in science.”
