Sharjah’s ruler has paid off debts worth more than AED73m ($20m) for UAE citizens.
Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed to emirate’s debt settlement committee (SDSC) to pay off the loans to provide a stable and decent life for citizens.
The SDSC has approved AED73,056,000 ($20m) to settle the debt of 125 cases presented to it.
Sharjah debts paid off
Rashid Ahmed bin Al Sheikh, Head of the Emiri Court and Chairman of the Committee, confirmed that the 24th batch approved the amount for those convicted of financial cases and insolvent deceased.
The total amount processed by the committee from the first to the 24th batch amounted to AED1,051,310,153 ($286m), benefiting a total of 2,086 individuals.
