The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has announced the working hours for the month of Ramadan, as well as the holidays for Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha.
The working hours for bank branches and offices during the month of Ramadan will be from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while money transfer centers will operate from 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM.
“The offices of banks and their seasonal branches at the Hajj terminals of airports and sea ports as well as in Makkah and Madinah and the border crossings remain open to serve the Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and visitors during the holidays,” according to a statement by SAMA.
The statement also added that a number of branches and transfer centers of banks will remain open in places that require open headquarters for work during certain periods during the holidays.
The announcement comes ahead of the month of Ramadan, which is expected to begin from March 23, this year.
During this month, Muslims around the world observe a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection. The shortened working hours will allow bank employees to observe their religious duties while continuing to provide essential financial services to customers.
In addition to the working hours during Ramadan, SAMA also announced the dates for the Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha holidays.
The Eid Al-Fitr holiday will begin at the end of the working day on Monday, April 17, and work will resume on Tuesday, April 25.
The Eid Al-Adha holiday will start at the end of the working day on Monday, June 22, and work will resume on Tuesday, July 2.
