Oman to be affected by air depression, says meteorologist

Oman is expected to be hit by air depression starting Tuesday, April 18, according to an Omani meteorologist. The unfavourable weather condition is caused when air of different temperatures meet.

The air depression is expected to continue until Friday, April 21.

Chances of isolated rain and occasional thundershowers is expected in the mountainous region of Al Hajr.

The peak is expected to affect areas of South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Shariqiyah, A’Dakhiliyah and Al-Wusta.

The Sultanate will also face decreased visibility due to dust and downward winds with speeds up to 35 knots.

The Civil Aviation Authority advises precautionary measures and visibility checks alongside following weather reports.
