The Kuwait Ministry of Interior announced a new decision that will impact expats in the country.

From September 6, expats are now required to settle their telecommunications bills before being allowed to travel for any reason.

The ministry issued a statement urging expats to clear their communication dues through the Ministry of Communications website or the government’s Sahl application.

This move follows similar directives from two other governmental bodies, namely the Traffic Department and the Ministry of Electricity and Water.

The Interior Ministry is actively in discussions with various ministries and government departments to potentially implement this measure across the board.

Expat travel rules

Kuwait expats can visit offices located in the land and sea outlets and Kuwait International Airport.

The Ministry of the Interior called on expats to abide by the laws and not to violate the new rules, as it will not hesitate to carry out its duty to maintain security and public order in the country.
