Dubai has announced Friday, October 27 will be a remote work day for some workers, due to weather conditions.

All UAE government schools will also switch to remote learning for the day, to safeguard pupils and staff, according to the UAE Government Media office.

In a statement announced on social media it was announced that employees of government entities will be asked to work remotely.

Roles, which require on-site presence will be exempted from the rule.

A statement by the Government Media Office said: “Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, tomorrow, Friday, 27 October, 2023, will be a remote working day for employees of all Dubai government entities, due to weather conditions.

“This applies to all government employees in Dubai, except for roles that need on-site presence at the workplace.”

The UAE government media office said all public schools across the country would switch to remote learning for the day.
