Dubai Police has added female snipers to its force following their successful completion of a specialised course.
The emirate’s policing authority said the female officers “demonstrated outstanding tactical skills” in the force’s sniper course.
The course featured several aspects including archery principles, safety precautions, and mathematical equations for shooting, as well as dealing with humidity, mirage, and observation methods.
The course’s graduation ceremony, which took place at the Training City – Al Ruwayyah, was held in the presence of Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Acting Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police; Colonel Obaid Bin Mubarak Yarouf, director of Security and VIP Protection Department, and a group of officers and trainers.
