The UAE has issued a weather warning over conditions in parts of the emirates, and police have advised motorists to be vigilant on roads.
Parts of the UAE are expected to see rain over the weekend, while dust was forecast to have an impact in Abu Dhabi.
Parts of the UAE experienced summer rain showers on Thursday and the National Centre of Meteorology issued a yellow warning for dust in Abu Dhabi.
UAE weather warning
As per the Yellow alert status, the NCM advised people in Abu Dhabi to “be aware”, adding that they should “be on the lookout if you go for outdoor activities”.
Abu Dhabi Police took to social media to warn motorists of safety precautions when driving in dusty conditions.
It said: “Abu Dhabi Police urges drivers to be cautious due to low visibility during high winds and dust.
“For your safety, and for the safety of others on the road, please do not be distracted by taking any videos or using your phone.”
Rain in parts of the the United Arab Emirates continued on Friday, with stations in Ras Al Khaimah reporting showers.
Looking ahead, the NCM weather forecast said: “A chance of convective clouds Eastward and Southward may extend over some internal areas with rainfall during the weekend”.
