Security software vendor McAfee has reiterated its global commitment to channel partners, naming Roger King as its executive VP of worldwide sales. King’s brief includes deepening and accelerating McAfee’s global channel programme and engagement model.
“Three years ago, McAfee became 100% committed to building successful relationships with all of our channel partners,” said Kevin Weiss, president, McAfee.
“Roger is the right person to lead this charge, having led his previous company from $120 million in US revenues to a multi-billion dollar global company. His accomplishments demonstrate his commitment to partner profitability and make him a valuable addition to McAfee,” Weiss added.
Prior to joining McAfee, King was president of Software Spectrum, a division of Level 3 Communications. During his stint at Level 3, King helped the company grow to more than US$3 billion in revenues. Prior to joining Software Spectrum, King held positions at Lotus Development Corporation, Sterling Software and IBM Corporation. King will report directly to Weiss at McAfee.
“McAfee has continually proven itself as an innovator in the security market, and has consistently been rated by industry analysts as having the industry’s most complete set of security solutions for business users,” said King. “This is a really exciting time in the company’s history and I look forward to helping to drive its continued success.”
McAfee’s current Middle East distributor line-up includes both Mindware and Aptec. The vendor remains wholly committed to a channel-friendly strategy through its McAfee security alliance global partner programme.
