Du customers will be able to obtain FIFA World Cup package for AED 551, the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (EITC) announced on Monday.
Ahead of the World Cup, Du said there there are four standalone Bein Sports channels being provided for the event, following an agreement between the UAE telco and Bein Sports.
Customers will be able to watch all the event’s matches by buying World Cup the package.
“We are delighted to offer this incredible event to our valued customers and add life to life by screening all 65 football matches across our dedicated Bein Sports channels,” said Fahad Al Hassawi, deputy CEO of telco services for EITC.
“We continue to offer complete transparency for our customers, here enabling them to enjoy the biggest showpiece in the football calendar.”
Additionally, all Bein Sports channels have resumed regular broadcasting.
The announcement comes one day after Bein said “lengthy” talks with du had broken down and that the UAE-based telecoms provider would not be carrying its programmes, including the World Cup.
Services had been disrupted since Saturday, which du said was a result of action taken by Bein. Customers faced more than 24 hours with Bein programming before services were restored.
Du’s World Cup package announcement – alongside that of competitor Etisalat – follows weeks of uncertainty surrounding the availability of World Cup matches to customers in the UAE.
