Abu Dhabi Ship Building Company (ADSB) has launched two 64-metre landing ships for the Kuwait Naval Force as part of a contract to build eight naval ships to support Kuwait’s military capabilities.
The ships were launched during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Kuwaiti Naval Force in the presence of Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Khodr, Chief of the General Staff at Kuwait Armed Forces, Major-General Khaled Al-Kandari, Commander of the Kuwait Navy and Dr Khaled Al Mazrouei, CEO of ADSB.
Al Mazrouei said: “This project has further strengthened the relations between ADSB and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense and its Naval Force – an achievement that we are proud of.”
He added: “We have prioritised this project as we are committed to supporting Kuwait’s Naval Force and enhancing our leadership in offering the best naval and marine services.”
ADSB said it won a contract to build five 16-metre landing crafts, a 42-metre landing ship, and two 64-metre landing ships, adding that five out of eight vessels have been delivered ahead of schedule.
