$1 million gold plated car unveiled in Dubai

The Nissan R3 GT-R is dubbed ‘Godzilla’

A gold-plated car worth $1 million (AED 3.67 million) has been unveiled in Dubai.

The Nissan R3 GT-R, called ‘Godzilla,’ was revealed at the Automechanika automotive parts exhibition in Dubai’s World Trade Centre yesterday.

Showcased by Japanese sports cars customisers Kuhl Racing, the car is covered with a gold paint sheen applied by Japanese body-shop Artis Izawa and further engraved by artist Takahiko Izawa.

The car was first shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January and features a 3.8 litre V6 twin turbo engine with 545 horsepower and 6-speed dual clutch transmission.

Automechanika Dubai is the largest trade exhibition in its kind in the MENA region. It covers areas such as parts and components, electronics and systems, repair and maintenance, tyres and batteries, accessories and tuning, and service station and car wash.
