The latest video released by British filmmakers as part of the hidden camera series ‘Trollstation’ features an actor pretending to be drunk in Dubai.
The clip, which lasts four minutes and 24 second, features 26-year-old Daniel Jarvis, who describes himself as a “comedian/filmmaker/gangstar” on his online profile, posing as a drunk British expat wandering the streets and malls.
Jarvis offers several residents free bottles of beer, while slurring and falling over, with several passers-by featured in the clip warning him that he will be arrested and have his passport confiscated if he is caught by police.
In a later scene, Jarvis is filmed asking Dubai Police officers for directions, who then inform him that drinking on the street in Dubai is not allowed.
The clip is the latest posted online as part of the hidden camera ‘Trollstation’ series, which has been running for nearly five years, with some of the clip gaining over one million views on Youtube.
In the past the group has described its video series as “intentionally provocative and controversial with the aim to offend and harass the general public in the name of comedic satire. Trollstation is a collective of social misfits playing mad ASBO [anti-social behaviour order] games on the public.”
Some of their high profile pranks in the UK have included invading the pitch during a Tottenham’s Europa League match, turning a London Underground train carriage into a strip club and faking a kidnapping.
The group previously uploaded a video called ‘Would You Steal In Dubai? Social Experiment’, which investigated if people would steal a wallet full of money left on the footpath.
It garnered headlines in local media and has been watched by over half a million people. The latest binge drinking clip has so far been viewed 45,868 times but was not received warmly in the comments posted under the clip on Youtube.
